"I usually wear the traditional Herero attire when I'm attending to a cultural events, visiting the city of Okahandja or when there's a funeral. I want to show my respect to my ancestors, those who fought the German imperialists in 1904. The uniform is taken from the German soldiers but, in my opinion, we made it our own and it is ours now. It now honors those who died fighting. The green colored flag I'm carrying signifies Mbanderu people, the Eastern Herero tribe of Namibia."
